How it works
You send us the page, with what it gets wrong and what is true now; a link to a source helps. We check the claim against primary sources, meaning the company, agency or original document behind it. If we can't prove it, we tell you and stop there. If it holds up, we contact the publisher with the evidence and ask them to update the page, and then we tell you what happened. It costs you nothing, and your details stay with us unless you say otherwise.
How it works in detailWhy it matters now
A page stays as it was written until someone changes it. Rules change and products are retired, while the pages describing them stay as they were and keep being read. That matters more now that AI assistants read the web and repeat it back as answers. Google's own help page for its AI answers in Search says they "can and will make mistakes," and in the largest published test of AI assistants on news questions, 45% of answers had at least one significant issue, with a fifth containing major accuracy problems, including outdated information. When a page is wrong, the answers built on it are wrong too. Fix the page, and everyone who reads it next gets the correction.
